St Luke’s Parkstone

St Lukes Parkstone – A lively Evangelical church whose aims is “To be a community of whole-life disciples of Jesus Christ committed to Worship, Growth, Fellowship and Mission.”

St Luke’s is a lively Anglican Church in the more evangelical tradition with an openness to the work of the Holy Spirit.  On most Sundays we number around 150 adults and 40 young people and children.

The vicar Chris Strain is assistant area dean and served for 10 years on General Synod.  He is ably supported by our curate, Kevin Rogers and many others.

We have a huge Parents and Toddlers, outstanding Pre-School, large uniformed groups, women’s groups, 11 Homegorups, Holiday Club and proper coffee in church!  Some go to New Wine conferences and we have a Church weekend in early 2017.  We have good contact with a number of schools as well as Rest Homes for the elderly.  We are a friendly church and seek to reach out to the community.  We are on a journey together and we sometimes do well!

We believe that our shared life together should be based on our values, beliefs and identity, and that character and Christlikeness are more important than our competence.  Our Church Purpose is “To be a community of whole-life disciples of Jesus Christ committed to Worship, Growth, Fellowship and Mission.”  Our vision and programmes should flow from this.

We hope you will feel called to join us.
