It’s like a Whirlwind!

Hello….my name is Tony Edmonds and I’ve just taken over the post of Diocesan Vocations Co-ordinator. It’s been a whirlwind of meetings, names and emails as I try to get to grips with the exciting world of vocations. There is so much going on in the Diocese.

Next year (2019) we have a Vocations Enquirers day, an opportunity to hear about, reflect on and even take some first steps towards discerning God’s call in your life. It’s on Saturday 26th January 2019 at the Friend’s meeting House in Devizes, Wiltshire. There are further details on this site.

If you’re wondering whether ordained ministry is for you, you’re between the ages of 18 to 30, and you’d like to get a flavour of what it’s like to be a vicar in the church of England, then have a look at our Pray, Serve, Grow ministry experience internships. We have room for seven explorers on our scheme, three urban based, living in community in a house in Poole and four rural internships living with families in villages around the diocese. Our next intake of interns will be in September 2019, but we shall start looking at applications in the near future. If you think this is for you, then have a look on the website, there’s plenty of information available.

There is a real thrill in accompanying people on their journey of exploration as they respond to God’s call in their lives. There are many different opportunities to serve in God’s Church and many different people with a huge variety of gifts and abilities who take up the work…..but there’s just one God who calls.

Is he calling you?

Can we walk with you as together we discern his words?

Are you ready for the adventure of responding to God?

Just get in touch by email (tony.edemonds@salisbury.anglican.org) or by phone (01722 411944).
